The Oklahoma Story is a third grade textbook program that meets the 2012 Oklahoma C3 Standards for the Social Studies as well as the Common Core Literacy Standards in Social Studies. The student textbook covers the history of Oklahoma from prehistoric times to the present, and includes content on the state's geography and economy.
The Oklahoma Story Teacher Guide supports the Student Edition with multiple lesson activities focused on social studies, reading comprehension, vocabulary, writing, online research, and cross-curricular topics. It also includes resource lists for each lesson, thumbnails of accompanying Student Guide pages, chapter assessments, an answer key, and a set of Teacher Tools (maps, graphic organizers, and lesson support). The program is designed to support state standards as well as common core standards.
